Career & Achievements

Dr. P. Ramachandran Nair (MSAM, Ph.D., Ex-Assistant Director, CCRAS, Ministry of AYUSH) was born in 1942 into a traditional Vaidya family in Mundakkottukurussi, Kerala. He received his Diploma in Ayurveda from Government Ayurveda College, Thripunithura, with distinction in 1965 and completed his Post Graduation (MSAM) from Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar, as a University topper in 1968. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Pune in 1999.

Choosing clinical practice over academia initially, he served with distinction in the Kerala Government Service and later joined the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) as an Assistant Research Officer. After 29 years of dedicated service, he focused on establishing Vishnu Ayurveda College in 2002, which is now recognized as a premier Ayurveda institution in India.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Nair has published 27 scientific papers, primarily in the CCRAS Journal and other prestigious publications like the Journal of Ayurveda (NIA, Jaipur). He has presented 14 research papers at national seminars and is celebrated for his contributions to clinical research in Ayurveda.
